Today we’d like to introduce you to Tevin Green.
Hi Tevin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, I started with the HateLess Foundation back in 2016. I knew the founder Jarvis Provitt through a family friend and he sat down and told me his vision for the HateLess organization, to feed, clothe, and educate underserved people of all ages worldwide to fulfill their purpose. I instantly felt passion for the mission and wanted to help out in any capacity I could. At the current time, I was getting my MBA in Business Administration so I assisted with creating videos, making PowerPoint presentations and marketing ideas. About a year later, I moved to Atlanta, GA for a new work opportunity upon graduating with my MBA. While being In the Metro Atlanta area, I noticed a great need to give back within the community. So, I called Jarvis last year and we decided on starting the HateLess -Atlanta location to make a difference in the Metro Atlanta area. This is currently our first year.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Currently, our biggest challenge has been working around the COVID-19 pandemic in this new climate. We want everyone to be safe and mask up whether we are holding a community service outreach feeding or a fundraiser. We can admit that social distancing mandates have limited in-person fundraising, but we aren’t letting this discourage us from continuing to strive forward and come up with new solutions to impact change.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently am an Analyst for Home Depot Corporate within the HR department and I’m the Area Director for the HateLess Foundation. Home Depot is constantly changing, always evolving and I get front row opportunity to watch and contribute to the process of making a simple idea grow into a nationwide product or service. Which I enjoy!
Being the Area Director over the HateLess – Atlanta location provides the chance to make a positive contribution by expanding consciousness of homelessness within the area as well as the need for efficient food resources for underrepresented citizens. I believe the need for healthy and nutritious foods within our impoverished communities is essential for the wellbeing and overall health of our neighborhoods…
What sets me apart from others, I would say is my love for community outreach, mentorship & fitness. I would add also that I like to explore how people who are at the peak of their professionals think and operate to translate those same practices and techniques to people looking to get their footing back on track within their life. This has been a deep passion of mind which has led me to pursue my PHD in Performance Psychology.
